The Florida Department of Health reported two more deaths Wednesday morning, in Pasco and Sarasota counties, bringing the COVID-19 death toll to 22.

The Pasco death was a woman, age 71, and the Sarasota death was a male, 81, according to the Florida Department of Health.

Nearly 1,700 COVID-19 infections were reported, with Miami-Dade for the first time showing 400 cases of the respiratory illness caused by the new coronavirus.

Broward now has 355 cases, following by Palm Beach, at 118. For the first time, Hillsborough County exceeded the 100 mark, with 106 cases.

More than two-thirds of counties have at least one coronavirus infection, according to the state health department data.
