Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried’s political committee raised $29,000 in September, including a $10,000 donation from a cannabis software company, state election records show.

Fried, the only statewide elected Democrat in Florida, has raised about $300,000 for her committee – called Florida Consumers First – since she took office in January.

Her largest donations in September included the $10,000 from Trace LLC, the Vermont-based cannabis company, and $10,000 from the Florida Education Association, the state’s largest teachers’ union, state election records show.

The Florida Phoenix previously reported on the latest fund-raising efforts by Gov. Ron DeSantis and Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis in this story and on Attorney General Ashley Moody in this report.
